Best Class Ever!

I took the Basic Handgun Course from instructor Scott Frandsen last month. Prior to taking this course I had never fired nor shot a gun. The class covered every aspect I would need to know including legal ramifications and laws, gun safety and etiquette, as well as real life scenarios. Scott was an excellent and patient instructor, starting with proper handgrip using fake guns, basic shooting with an air gun, and target shooting with a registered handgun and live ammunition.

His calm manner and expertise gave me confidence in rendering a weapon safe, teaching proper storage and access of weapons. I never thought I would ever shoot a gun, but now enjoy it and will keep my new skill.

I really enjoyed meeting you in the CCW class yesterday. I have to tell you, I was BEYOND impressed with the entire class. My husband got home from work this morning at 0400 and couldn’t wait to hear all about it. While I was getting ready for work, I went on and on telling him all about you and everything I learned. I am so thankful I found you online.

I can’t say enough about the quality of the class content or the way you teach. I left there feeling like I had not only learned so much, but I had gained so much confidence as well. I spent at least a half hour telling him everything I learned and how great you were. I am just so impressed with the content you emphasized on, as well as what you didn’t waste time on. I felt like every minute was spent on valuable information. Even when there was a story, it was for the purpose of a valuable learning lesson. I loved how you took the time to teach me about jams and clearing my weapon, because you recognized that was a concern of mine.

I told him “this guy is so professional…I mean he really knows what he’s doing. He doesn’t have to be something he’s not, everything about him is spot on, and I’m sure his business partner Buck, is the same way.” He is really impressed, and loves the idea of me taking future classes from you. Despite the rain, wind, and cold, you guys put on an awesome CCW Class today. What a great turnout! I’ve taken 6 CCW classes, including two other states, from various instructors, and you two are head-and-shoulders above the rest.

You provided quality instruction, relevant information and hand-outs, excellent shooting techniques, humor, interactive discussions, and, refreshingly, lessons on how to AVOID a deadly conflict.

Oh, and the actual shooting part was fun too. I got way more out of it than I paid.

You and Buck did a great job during the CCW classroom and field classes. I liked how you split time on teaching different parts of the class, but both had the same goal. I really liked that Buck kept his eye on me during our qualifying and wasn’t afraid to use me as an example. Things like that help everyone.
